About Basketball Ireland
Basketball Ireland (B.I.) is the national governing body for the sport on the island of Ireland. Part of FIBA Europe, the European Governing body, and of FIBA, the World Governing body.
B.I. operates as a conduit with Government Departments, particularly the Department of Transport, Arts, Tourism & Sport who have significantly funded B.I. in the past.
B.I. positions itself as a service centre for all levels of the game, facilitating all aspects of promoting and running the sport. It seeks to promote, the game, in all its forms, to supporters by emphasising the greatness of basketball.

Basketball Ireland use SportLoMo software
In no other sport is there such an interest in player statistics, Box Scores and season Averages’ are essential viewing for your average Basketball fan. To cater for this BI use Sportlomo for its player stats system, box scores, results section, schedule and player profiles.
The system updates the league tables and results section in realtime and them within a specified time limit the match stats and box scores are displayed. The stats input system does all the calculations and percentage and displays it through a pop up beside every score for easy of use. All data is captured by API’s and displays directly on the Sportlomo B.I. website.
Top Five Performing Players
It was important to BI to bring more visibility to the best performing players, so rather than a large bank of tabular data a Top Five Performance league was created for players with their club logos.
Mobile Responsiveness on mobile (cell) and tablet was very important. Over 65%of the site visitors login on a mobile/tablet platform.
News items have been split into different sections and not every news item appears on the home page, this has been enabled using a ‘tagging’ system. Example of News tags: International, National League, Development, Area Boards.
